Finnish education customised for Chinese students in Beijing

EduExcellence, the international education service provider owned by the Universities of Applied Sciences in the Helsinki Metropolitan area, and the Chinese agent Sino-Finland Bridge (SFB) have made an agreement on an extensive educational programme for Chinese students. The cooperation will be launched with an English degree programme on Information Technology Business by the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

A group of Chinese students has been selected for the programme, and they will complete a Bachelor’s degree after a short introductory period. Most Chinese students have a good command of the English language and they are highly motivated. Cooperation with the Finnish e-learning solutions company Viope will take place throughout the introductory period and the studies in programming.

"We know that there is a great demand for high-quality international education in China. Finland and the Finnish education system have an excellent reputation in China, and we should therefore respond to the need for training as soon as possible. China invests in expertise irrespective of economic fluctuation", comments Director Jan-Markus Holm from EduExcellence, who is the head of Business Development & Sales for China.

SFB is an important partner to EduExcellence in the greater Beijing region. There are great hopes for expanding the cooperation as soon as possible.

"We seek to engage in close cooperation in China with the programmes of all our stakeholder universities, says Tuija Pulkkinen, CEO of EduExcellence. "We hope that, in the near future, the operations will extend into other areas of education and that we will be able to increase the number of student groups in order to meet China's large market potential.
