Guests will hear about the key principles of Finnish early childhood education and care. They will have a chance to follow demonstration on teaching early mathematics in Finnish early childhood education teacher training school operated by Turku University. This will be followed by a discussion with local training specialists /teacher trainees who will be commenting on their observations.

A case video shows how students are trained for work and independent living. Students will learn skills that are essential in the future and they will get support to find their own pathway to working life.

This will be followed by discussion on special needs education with Luovi professionals and the local actors.

Dr. Kirsti Lonka is Professor of Educational Psychology at University of Helsinki, Finland, since 2005. She has worked in many countries on several continents to bring the latest innovations and ideas to Finnish education. She is an international researcher and keynote speaker who has inspired thousands of teachers globally.
